Our Mission
Modern Living Review was founded with a single purpose: to cut through the noise of online supplement and wellness marketing and give real people the honest, research-backed information they need to make confident purchasing decisions.
Every day, thousands of health products flood the market with bold claims and little substance. Our editorial team exists to independently investigate those claims — evaluating ingredients, reviewing available clinical evidence, scrutinising company practices, and comparing products side by side — so you can read one clear review and know whether a product is worth your money and your health.
⚡ Our promise: We never accept payment to write positive reviews. Affiliate commissions help keep this site free to readers, but they have zero influence over our editorial conclusions. A product that underperforms gets a low score — full stop.
Who We Are
We are a small, dedicated editorial team based across the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia — spanning five markets (US, CA, UK, AU, NZ) that our reviews serve. Our contributors include researchers with backgrounds in nutritional science, health journalism, and consumer advocacy. None of our reviewers are compensated based on affiliate sales performance.
Sarah R.
MSc in Nutritional Science. 9 years covering supplements, functional foods, and wellness trends for consumer audiences.
James M.
Former consumer health journalist. Specialises in ingredient transparency, label accuracy, and regulatory compliance across UK and EU markets.
Laura P.
Background in biochemistry and clinical research. Evaluates clinical evidence quality and TGA/Medsafe regulatory alignment for AU/NZ products.
Our Review Methodology
Every product reviewed on Modern Living Review goes through a structured, multi-step evaluation process. We do not publish one-paragraph summaries or recycled manufacturer copy. Our reviews are built from original research, primary source verification, and wherever possible, direct product experience.
1 — Ingredient Analysis
We examine every active ingredient: its documented mechanism of action, available peer-reviewed studies (PubMed, Cochrane, etc.), dosage used vs. clinically studied dosage, and bioavailability considerations.
2 — Manufacturer Verification
We verify whether the manufacturer is registered, uses GMP-certified (or equivalent) facilities, publishes third-party testing results, and discloses full ingredient sourcing where possible.
3 — Label & Claims Review
We compare stated claims against what the science actually supports — flagging unsupported health claims, misleading statistics, and "proprietary blend" opacity that hides underdosed ingredients.
4 — Customer Feedback Analysis
We analyse verified reviews across Amazon, Trustpilot, and platform-specific feedback (e.g. Hotmart, ClickBank), filtering for patterns rather than cherry-picked testimonials.
5 — Value Assessment
We calculate cost per serving/dose, compare against market alternatives, and evaluate refund policy clarity, subscription traps, and customer service reputation.
6 — Regulatory Alignment
We assess compliance with relevant regulations in each target market: FTC (US), Health Canada, MHRA/ASA (UK), TGA/ACCC (AU), and Medsafe/Commerce Commission (NZ).
Our Scoring System
Each product receives a composite score out of 10, weighted across five dimensions. Scores are calculated before any knowledge of affiliate commission rates, and final scores are locked before any monetisation decision is made for that review.
| Dimension | Weight | What We Measure |
|---|---|---|
| Ingredient Quality & Evidence | 30% | Peer-reviewed support, dosage accuracy, bioavailability, sourcing transparency |
| Manufacturing Standards | 20% | GMP/TGA/MHRA certification, third-party testing, facility registration |
| Claim Accuracy | 20% | Alignment between marketing claims and scientific evidence |
| Customer Experience | 15% | Verified reviews, return policy, customer service responsiveness |
| Value for Money | 15% | Cost per dose vs. alternatives, subscription clarity, pricing transparency |
Editorial Independence & Affiliate Relationships
Modern Living Review participates in affiliate marketing programmes, including but not limited to Hotmart, ClickBank, Amazon Associates, Commission Junction, and ShareASale. When you click a link on our site and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you.
This revenue model is how we keep this website free, staff our editorial team, and maintain our research tools. However, it does not and must not influence the editorial process. The following safeguards are in place:
- Scores are set before monetisation: A product's review score is finalised before our team determines which affiliate programme (if any) it will link to.
- We review products we don't monetise: Not every reviewed product has an affiliate arrangement. We review products because they are relevant to our audience — not because they pay us.
- Negative reviews are published: Products that score below 6/10 are published with our full analysis. We do not suppress unfavourable findings.
- No sponsored reviews: Manufacturers cannot pay to have a review written, edited, or removed.

Markets We Cover
Our editorial team reviews products available in five English-speaking markets. Where a product is available in multiple countries with different formulations, pricing, or regulatory status, we note those differences explicitly in the review. We do not apply a US-only lens to products sold in the UK, Australia, or New Zealand, as regulatory environments, consumer protections, and ingredient availability differ meaningfully across these regions.
- United States: FTC, FDA (supplement regulation under DSHEA), state consumer protection laws
- Canada: Health Canada (NHP licensing), ASC disclosure standards, PIPEDA/provincial privacy laws
- United Kingdom: MHRA, ASA/CAP, UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018 + DUAA 2025)
- Australia: TGA (therapeutic goods), ACCC (consumer law), OAIC (Australian Privacy Principles)
- New Zealand: Medsafe, Commerce Commission, NZ Privacy Act 2020 (amended 2025)
Corrections & Updates Policy
Health and supplement research evolves. When new clinical evidence, regulatory actions, or verified factual corrections come to our attention, we update our reviews promptly and note the revision date at the top of the article. We do not silently edit content — changes of substance are disclosed. If you believe a review contains an error, please contact us with the specific claim and supporting evidence. We take correction requests seriously and respond within 5 business days.
